1% Leadership: Building your leadership practice

In case you missed Andy Ellis', of Orca Security, Rocky Mountain Information Security Conference (RMISC) presentation last week 1% Leadership (also the title of his book): Building your leadership practice, you can still catch the slides and high points on his website HERE.

Andy talks about how leaders need to stop destroying value in the ways they waste their teams' energy. Exhaustion and Exclusion (Personal Stress), Unwillingness and Inability (Skills Application) and Ineffectiveness and Misalignment (Organization Alignment) need to be pivoted to Wellness and Inclusion (Support), Inspiration and Development (Management) and Planning and Alignment (Authority). The goal is a balance in leadership, or at a minimum improving what you are worst at.

He then breaks down how to achieve Wellness, Inclusion, Inspiration, Development, Planning and Alignment by Personal, Team and Organization levels. I included a photo below of one of the bonus slides not in the online deck.

If you'd like more information about any of these skills, they, and dozens more, are covered in 1% Leadership HERE. He also has a weekly newsletter; a free subscription gets you 75% of its content each week, delivered in short, easy-to consume lesson. Subscribe HERE.

Thank you again to Andy Ellis of Orca Security . I look forward to reading your book!
